| A Giggle at the Guild | ||||
| Appreciate it’s been a while since this was all updated,
that’s the trouble juggling a job, Comedy and playing in a band but
better late than never!
The regular Comedy night at the Guildhall on the first Tuesday of every month just gets better and better; we are now selling out at least three days before the gig and attracting a diverse range of people from across the County. A BIG THANK YOU to all the loyal fans who come back each month to experience some of the best in the UK’s up and coming acts delivered virtually to their doorstep. It’s a fantastic night, a great atmosphere and for only £5.00, where else could you get such great entertainment? The guildhall do so much for this night that they are as much as part of the success as the audience and the acts themselves and it’s brilliant we have such a fabulous venue in the heart of the City. So, if you’ve not experienced this for yourself, make the effort, book your tickets and head off down to the Guildhall for the next round of laughter! We are discussing whether it’s feasible to run a Comedy Festival in Gloucester next year, will need sponsorship from Companies ideally so if anyone can assist please contact me via the email nikhill@blueyonder.co.uk. Cheers Nik Hill |

| WHAT IS IT FOR? | ||||
| A Shedload of Laughs provides a platform in Cheltenham and Gloucester for local people to see up and coming circuit Comedians from all over the UK - offering a unique opportunity to view their talents before they move on to bigger things. | ||||
| Local Comedians can also use our platform to perform in a friendly, well-known environment before they venture out into the harsh world commonly known as The Comedy Circuit. Our home venue was initially at Gloucester Rugby Club, but other touring
venues were developed and The Guildhall Arts Centre,Eastgate Nik Hill, the force behind A Shedload of Laughs, is passionate about Comedy.

| HOW DID IT ALL START? | ||||
| A Shedload of Laughs was started by Nik after he became
involved with a Forest based Comedy group called The Kitchen Comedy Club
back in January 2002. He performed his first true Stand Up gig at The
Miners Arms in Sling on a foggy night in February 2002;since then he has
also performed at Westbury Village Hall, The Comedy Cavern Bath, The Gag
Club Bedford, The Bunch Of Grapes Bristol, Forest Hills Golf Club etc. All the best Comedy Clubs have a catchy name - Nik wanted to incorporate the laughter with the fact that he a big Rugby fan - hence A Shed Load Of Laughs after the shed at Gloucester Rugby Club. |
||||
| COMMUNITY SUPPORT | ||||
| Nik holds Comedy Workshops, writing courses and provide an
information service to anyone wishing to get into Comedy, regardless of
their background or experience. He believes there is untapped talent out there in our Schools and Colleges, particularly within those areas that traditionally may not even consider performing arts as an option; that is the beauty of Comedy - often it attracts the most unlikely people into it |
